Hackensack & Backus Giving Tree 2025

This holiday season, let’s come together to bring the magic of Christmas to children in our community. The Hackensack & Backus Giving Tree isn’t just about presents; it’s about sharing love, spreading joy, and ensuring that every child has presents under the tree. Together, we can create beautiful memories for families in need, showing them they are supported by a caring community.

In 2024 we were able to help 25 families with Christmas wishes for 66 children. Everything you do, big or small, makes this program a blessing for so many. Thank you!

For Families in Need to Participate:

1. Must live at a Hackensack/Backus address

2. Age of child must be newborn to high school senior

3. If you are a grandparent, the child(ren) need to live with you

4. Participation deadline is Tuesday, November 25, 2025

INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

1. Parent(s) full name, address, email, and phone number

2. First name, age, and gender of each child

3. A wish list of both wants and needs for each child

4. Clothing sizes and any preferences (color, style, etc.)

We ask that you focus on what your child most needs and wants and put those on the list first. Follow with other options that are less needed/desired. This helps your child have a better chance of receiving the priority items. Also, please be sure your requests are reasonable as our donations are given by generosity of the local community members who participate in this program. Thank you.

• Starting the weekend of Thanksgiving, Giving Trees will be set up at local businesses in Hackensack & Backus.

• Each tree is decorated with tags that list a gift a child needs or wishes for.
• Select a tag, purchase the gift (gifts must be new), and return it unwrapped with the tag to any participating location by December 17th or mail with tag to: The Giving Tree, 3489 Ford Dr NW, Hackensack, MN 56452. If shipping from Amazon, please use the option for a gift receipt to add notes with the tag information.

Every Child Will Receive:

• Something they need
• Something they want
• A stocking full of goodies

If shopping isn’t your thing, there are other ways to contribute:

• Click here to make a monetary donation or checks can be delivered to the Hackensack Chamber of Commerce. Money may also be deposited at First National Bank to the Hackensack Chamber's "Giving Tree" account.

       We use all financial contributions to purchase gifts from any tags that remain on the trees after the deadline,         ensuring that no child is left without. Donations also help us buy stocking stuffers, so each child receives a             special bag of goodies!

• Donate candy: We make sure every child receives some chocolate and sweet treats! Drop off your candy donations at any participating business, and let them know it’s for the Giving Tree.
